Outage Planning Coordination (OPC), one of the oldest RCC services, continues its course of keeping power system secured on year ahead and week ahead time horizons. A group of outage planning experts from all European TSOs and RCCs is gathered within OPC Sub Team (OPC ST), a part of OPC STA Task Team under the umbrella of ENTSO-E Steering Group Regional Coordination, in order to monitor existing processes as well as to develop new features in outage planning coordination.
During 2023 SCC proposed to host one of the four OPC ST physical meetings and we were honored when the proposal was accepted by the whole team. So, it was our pleasure to host the first of four meetings for 2024 on 5th and 6th of March with participation of more than 30 people from about 20 different companies (TSOs, RCCs and ENTSO-E).
During the meeting, we discussed important topics related to the Pan-European OPC Tool Release 5 and 6, future plans regarding service improvement and development (5-year roadmap and 10-year vision), operational issues, administrative topics related to the one of the main OPC documents (OPC Rulebook) and future service migration to the CGMES format in which OPC aims to be one of the first RCC services migrated.
The meeting brought fruitful discussions and conclusions that will help in future service operation and development.
Special thanks to the Metropol Palace hotel for the great organization and hospitality!
Looking forward to see all the great people again in Copenhagen on second physical meeting in June 2024!
